Outpatient substance use disorder services are available for persons who have used drugs or alcohol or have been diagnosed as chemically dependent, if they can be treated in the community. Substance Use Disorder (SUD) refers to the overuse of or dependence on drugs or alcohol leading to effects that are harmful to a person’s physical and mental well-being, or the welfare of those around them. The definition of SUD can be summarized as the compulsive use of a substance despite ongoing negative consequences.

LFS offers outpatient assessments, referrals, intensive outpatient treatment and family support education. Through these interventions, the abuser learns their issues are not unique and can be addressed. • Heroin Withdrawal and Detox

If you’ve been using heroin for a while or have become dependent, you’ll want to know what to expect if you decide to quit and begin to experience heroin withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms like muscle aches and anxiety make quitting heroin difficult. Doctors are available to help treat these side effects.
